Cabarete is located on the North coast of the island, twenty minutes away from the International Airport of Puerto Plata. Situated along a beautiful white sand bay, the village spans naturally between the ocean and the mountains, in the middle of lush vegetation.

Its charm is so well known, that most of its visitors return there regularly, some have even decided to make it their home.

This small resort is well known as being one of the world's best location for windsurfing and kitesurfing. It is also a wonderful place for diving, mountain biking, horse back riding, golfing, wake boarding and for discovering ecological treasures (natural preserves, caves, hiking...). Day and night, the village is buzzing. Bars, restaurants, shops and hotels along the beach or the main street always provide for a fun and relaxed atmosphere filled with local and international music. Cabarete used to be a vacation place for affluent families of Santiago and the North Coast. After being discovered in 1984 by French Canadians, the village expanded with the arrival of different nationalities, mainly Americans, Europeans, Russians. Despite the strong real estate development of the past years Cabarete remains a unique place, cosmopolitan and friendly, where Dominicans, tourists and residents mix in harmony.
